Berry Salad

Besides this gorgeous sunny weather and all the many activities that come with summer; one of my favorites is fruit! Berry season is one of my favorite times of the year. Most of my friends will either buy an abundance of berries or go to local farms so they can create jams to last their family for the rest of the year. I personally just love eating berries with every meal. Summer also means salad season for some folks and fruit salad is just a delicious treat.  Here is a recipe for my favorite berry fruit salad:

What you will need: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries. You can also add blackberries or huckleberries if you so desire. I like to add in dark chocolate chips just to kind of off set the sweetness of the berries. You can add chia seeds and yogurt to make this a yummy breakfast.

  1. Clean and dry all the berries.

  2. Chop the green leaves off the strawberries and cut them into fourths.

  3. Put the berries into a large bowl and add any extras (like the chocolate chips).

  4. ENJOY! Keep refrigerated and eat within the week.

Research has shown that berries provide countless health benefits such as preventing cancer, providing energy, and improving cognitive productivity.
