A unique volunteer opportunity was recently presented to the Northwest Wellness Physical Therapy Department. Our wonderful patient Debra, has been volunteering with Federal Way Community Caregiving Network for 3 years. She helps prep, cook, serve, and clean-up an entire meal for those in need around the Federal Way area. This program serves a hot meal to 70-100 men, women, and children on each and every Thursday. Calvary Lutheran Church (2415 S. 320th St., Federal Way) graciously serves as the host location.
The Federal Way Community Care Network’s mission is “to give hope by providing people’s basic needs. The FWCCN has been committed to providing its services since 1988 without regard to age, race, sex, sexual orientation, color of person’s skin, national origin, ethnic identity, religious affiliation, gender identity, disability, or family status.”
The volunteer schedule consists of food prep from 3-5 p.m. and dinner is served from 5-6pm with clean up to follow. FWCCN also accepts donation of items to help those in need. If you would like more information or you are interested in volunteering contact Betty at 253-350-0475 or email at email@example.com; or contact Phyllis at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is never a wrong time to volunteer your time, money, or talents. Please consider supporting this great cause. If you stop by on the third Thursday of every month you will see either Bri Fadet, PTA or Catyann Parker, DPT volunteering. We would love to work alongside you!
