On Thursday, October 22, 205, I once again participated in the Seattle/King County Medical Clinic at the Key Arena. The clinic operated from October 22-25 and provides free medical care to the Seattle community. Healthcare providers from all specialties worked together, volunteering their time, energy and expertise to provide much needed care to the underserved in our community. The clinic Seattle Center Foundation, a non-profit organization, raised the money and resources needed to produce the Clinic. With a budget of approximately $700,000; half from in-kind donations, the other half is raised in cash. This allowed us to provide more than $2.3 million in care to patients.
I always enjoy opportunities to work with my colleagues in providing chiropractic care to the community. This clinic is unique in that doctors of chiropractic work along-side medical doctors, osteopaths, nurse practitioners and dentist to provide integrated, patient-centered care. It is an excellent lesson in what healthcare can accomplish when we work together for the good of the patient.
The 2015 Seattle/King County Clinic served 4000 patients in 4 days, thanks to our community of 3,500 Volunteers and Professionals, and our Partners and Donors. And we are on target to meet or exceed our goal of $2.5 million in care. Year Two has been grand success!
“These four days in Key Arena were a haven of humanity and compassion at its best. The message to me was very clear, hope in a hurting world. Thank you for that hope and easing my suffering and the suffering of so many people in need.” - 2014 Clinic Patient
